Hong Kong

Here we are in Hong-Kong again! Indeed, we had been visiting Hong-Kong in 2010 during our "world-tour-test-trip". We have not gone to the same sights again but if you want to have a look at what we did 2 years ago, head over here ;)

From our previous visit, we remember HK as a very cosmopolitan, dirty, polluted city and full of businessmen. Two years later, it's still the same but our stay was much nicer thanks to our couchsurfing hosts :) We were first lucky to meet Randy and two other couchsurfers in his place: Lukas, a German guy and Kassania, a Russian girl. Randy is American, has been living in HK for a few years and loves couchsurfing, youhou so do we! :) As soon as we arrived, we headed out of town to go for a hike in HK hills, the walking trail was called the Dragon's Back (scary!!!). Here's a picture of that afternoon:

A warm and sweaty walk... but the landscape was worth it!

We ended our day with a walk along the Avenue of Stars in Kowloon, where you can admire what makes HK famous: it's huge buildings:

Do you remember the movie Ghost? They were using the same tricks! :D

We visited the 10000 buddhas temple with Lukas:

We counted them!... What a bunch of liars!!! There were more than 10000...

We spent 3 days at Randy's, we'll remember the night we spent talking with him around a cheese platter and a bottle of red wine! Thanks again for everything Randy!!!

Then, we went to Dominic's place. Dominic knows how to make sure two French people feel welcome, he offered us a glass of white wine as soon as we stepped in! This grape juice feels good after 6 months in Asia! :P We spent some very good moments with him and he gave us some very good advices for things to do around the city. Thank you Dominic for your hospitality and your generosity!

Following his recommendations, we went to the Big Buddha temple. This site is quite impressive for its gigantic bronze Buddha!

Buddhistically yours!

Finally, we've put an end to our stay in HK with the visit of a small village called Tai O. It's a small and very typical fishermen village with its houses on pilotis. This is not the nicest village on Earth but it's very interesting to discover! We recommend ;)
